The StaCool ThermoPaks use advanced cooling technology to keep core body temperatures at safe levels. ThermoPaks are made of individual cells that contain a non-toxic polymer material. Each cell works independently, which extends cooling time – if one cell is depleted or damaged, the others keep working. High-tech insulating material used between ThermoPaks and the skin results in even cooling, avoiding “cold spots” and keeping overall body temperature at a comfortable level. ThermoPaks remain flexible even when frozen; and when frozen to lower temperatures, they stay colder longer.
Each vest comes with TWO SETS of ThermoPaks so wearers can use the spare set to extend cooling time. Replacement takes only a few minutes.
ThermoPaks are FDA approved and safe enough to be used in direct contact with food.
Don't be misled by claims of other cooling systems. Soaking cooling packs in ice water to recharge the cooling material is not an efficient method. The effectiveness of any cooling system is controlled by the amount and starting temperature of the cooling material. Phase change material (PCM), or Paraffin, has a very short cooling period, especially when used in highly humid weather conditions. They can also be irritating (hazardous) if contact is made with the skin. If you should puncture or damage PCM cooling packs, your vest will be rendered useless and additional cooling packs will have to be purchased at a sometimes-substantial cost.

I have MS and am very sensative to heat. This vest has kept me cool enough to enjoy an outside spectator event for hours!
Not only does the product function fabulously, so does the company! A refreshing experience in today's markets.

I have had my vest for many years and it was time to replace my thermopacks. They are easy to activate. I look forward to many more years with my vest. It is perfect for keeping cool on hot summer days.

Packs are one row larger than pockets on my vest.( They may look that way but they will fit ) I am Santa and need to wear the vest for up to 12 hours a day, which means I need multiple changes of packs. I have noticed that even without additional cooling the frozen packs I am not using stay frozen long enough for the first swap out. Ho Ho Ho!

I bought the vest recently and only had now time to try it out. The spandex vest itself is really tight fitting as it should be if you wear it underneath. I wear it underneath a mascot costume, in the sense of suit made out of faux fur, which can become very hot. Walking around in with the vest keeps a long cooling and confortable level. High use as rapid movements like dancing and jumping around will use up the effect rather quickly compared to normal movement. Before buying the vest dancing was possible about 12-20 minutes before it got hot in it, with the vest it is between 60-90 minutes (as discribed very high movement rate).

I've used the stacool vest for years. My ice packs got destroyed a couple years ago and I learned to live without them. That consisted of not doing many things I could do with the vest. I have MS and go into boneless mode when my core temp raises a couple of degrees. I can be sweating everywhere else but if I keep the core temperature regulated I can do many things normally. Had the realization that if I just replaced the ice packs, I could do those things again. Thanks captain obvious.

I live on a lake in Canada. My MS had me missing outdoor activities in the summer months until my physiotherapist recommended this product. Very effective.

I am an A/S adaptive rower with MS , competitive racing starts in July and runs through August . The hottest and most humid months of the year , keeping cool before, during, and after a race is essential. Two years ago , I was using a competitor's ice water vest , that day in Philly was HOT and HUMID , I had to race at 9:00am , if , I qualified then the finals were at 1:30pm, I wore the vest at 9:00 but it was NOT adequate in the afternoon, the heat debilitated me completely. Last year, I wore the StaCool vest at 9:00 and 3:00pm , it helped a 66year old man win 2 silver medais against the kids (20s ,30s,40yrs)by keeping me COOL !!
