The StaCool Under Vest is an engineered body cooling system that offers hours of critical cooling without compromising mobility. For Multiple Sclerosis patients, a cooling vest can be the passport to fatigue-fighting exercise and activity. For athletes and professionals who labor in extreme heat, a cool vest can be an irreplaceable piece of equipment.
Anyone who has to stay cool and stay on the move knows the value of a body cooling vest that can keep you cool for hours without freezing you in minutes. Each pocket on the large StaCool Under Vest houses 18 individual ThermoPak cells; medium Under Vest houses 12 cells.
The StaCool Under Vest uses high-quality, durable materials and four easily replaceable ThermoPaks to cool the body core comfortably. Each lightweight cooling vest offers three hours of cooling per ThermoPak set, depending on activity type and environmental conditions during use.
Stacool Under Vests are perfect for:
Every StaCool Under Vest comes with TWO SETS of ThermoPaks (four packs per set), so wearers always have spare packs to extend cooling times.

I purchased this vest to wear while I ride my motorcycle in the Arizona summer. I tried it under a mesh jacket at first but it only lasted about an hour that way. I now wear it under a closed and zipped up jacket now to hold in the cold, it worked this way for about 3 hours. I am only using 2 ice packs in the front because all 4 are a bit heavy and bulky under a close fitting jacket. It keeps my core temp nice and cool and have made riding in 110 degree heat bearable. I would recommend this product.

This is the only cooling vest I have ever purchased and I went into it with some skepticism and a slightly incorrect mindset about what these things did. I do not have MS, I just wanted one to wear in the 90 degree weather in direct sun when I am working on lines(telephone pole wires).
The vest is comfortable enough. It pinches around the neck a little and doesn't extend as far down the back as I think it should but it fits very well. They tell you before check out that if you dont know what size to get, get the one lower than your size because you want/need the vest to fit snuggly. This is not only because you want the vest comfortable, but because you want the vest flush against you to feel the cold. If you don't get the right fit the vest might not work properly, or at least you won't feel cool.
Feeling cool is the wrong mindset I mentioned earlier. Don't think of these vests as the one stop fix to make you feel like you're in AC when the temperature around you is mid 80's. The extra set they give you is wonderful to have on hand to swap out when you feel the gel packs starting to lose their cool. Bonus points if you have a freezer at your work to keep cycling them. All 8 packs, depending on your freezer, can take up quite a bit of space.
The cooling power of the vest is very nice. I had difficulty with deciding if it was cooling me down enough or not at first. This is partly due to the gel packs being safer and not being as cold as ice, and partly due to the fact that bodies acclimate. Acclimation can be tricky because you will begin to think the vest isn't doing it's job because the skin its been sitting on is used to being chilled. Twist the vest to either side if you need to find out if it's still cooling you; and often times it is, no matter how hard your brain might try to trick you.
That being said THIS IS NOT THE COLDEST VEST
Steele makes colder vests with cooler icepacks. The problem with these is that they can actually be too cold for some people, and definitely too cold and too bulky to wear directly on skin or in a concealable way. The Stacool Under vest is very concealable; the first day I wore it to work no one noticed it under my t-shirt.
All in all this is a wonderful vest that I would recommend. You just have to research all the available ones and find the ones that fit your climate and activities. This is definitely the best effective concealable vest for it's price range.
(First Line Tech makes what most would call the perfect vest but at a much steeper price.)
(Steele makes the coldest most durable but zero conceal ability and possibly too cold for some.)
(Koolmax is the cheapest. Conceal ability, comfort, and ease of use take a back seat.)
(StaCool makes light, safe vests that get the job done and can be concealed fairly well while maintaining safety, comfort, and an affordable price range.)

It finally got hot enough to trial the Stacool under vest. It fit comfortably, thanks to the woman who took my order. I would have ordered too small but she steered me up because of my back brace. I was concerned that it would be too cold but it was very comfortable.
My main complaint is that it was so heavy, so next time maybe I'll try only 2 ice packs. I doubt this is a problem for most but I have ms and am a 68 years old woman. All in all, I'm pleased with my purchase and looking forward to being able to leave the house after 9 am in the summer!

Long lasting. Like the fact it's made in the USA.

Nice fitting. Really good. Used it for the first time in 88•F weather and high humidity. Did the trick better than the other vests I've had and used.

I sweat when it is 60 degrees outside and I needed something to help. I found StaCool and had to have one!
I ordered a tan vest after having seen a brochure that showed a completely tan vest. Intending to wear the vest under a shirt I was wanting the vest to blend in as much as possible. When I received the vest it was tan with a black mesh side. I had seen the image on the site but thought that the all tan was a newer version since the solid color seemed to be more logical (at least to me). Turns out that the all tan was the older version. I called customer service and explained my dilemma and was told that I could swap it out for the grey vest with the white mesh sides. I mailed just my vest back on Saturday and had a grey one on my doorstep on Thursday. I wanted to have it for the Forth of July, which I did but it turned out to be the coolest 4th in my memory so I did not even need it.
I recommend that you use the washing machine method for getting the ice packs ready for the freezer. I tried the warm water/hand method first and it was very time consuming. The washing machine did all of them in 10 minutes vs 10 minutes for the one by hand.
I did some yard work wearing the vest and it made a big difference. The ice packs did not last as long as stated but I was active and in the sun so I was not surprised. I swapped out the packs with the extra set from the freezer and went back to work. I love it.
I have shown it to my sisters and they want one!

I bought my StaCool Vest in 2004. It has been so helpful in allowing me to participate in outdoor activities in the Arizona heat. Today, I hydrated my second set of ThermoPacks. After ten years of use, the first set finally started to split. I have MS. I have recommended StaCool vests to others.

I have MS and I am severely affected by heat. Last summer I could only make it outside about 8 minutes before my legs wouldn't want to hold me up. It is also very warm in the salon I work in especially when the air conditioning cannot be run.
I heard about this cooling vest from a friend with MS and thought I would try it. I wore it to work and was amazed that I did not have extreme fatigue at the end of my day. I still limp, but I can recover much quicker. I have since invested in a second vest so I have enough ice packs to make it through the day.
My only suggestion would be a larger color selection.

The cooling vest has been beneficial by preventing seizures that I suffer often due to heat exposure. It's the best I have found.
